Amber.org.uk was setup in 1998 to provide a place for people to run talkers and MUDs in a secure and free environment. As time moved on and the popularity of text based socialising and gaming wained the server saw less and less demand for these facilities. These days Amber provides a base for the websites and projects of a few friends and still a few MUDs.
